Watching someone in a wheelchair struggling to get up onto a curb made us realize that it was time for the wheelchair to be completely reinvented. The iBOT gives disabled persons the ability to navigate any terrain and approach life with a new sense of dignity. The iBOT’s self-balancing technology allows the user to go up and down staircases, navigate difficult terrain and “stand” at eye level with the ambulatory people around them.

The DEKA Arm

Affectionately dubbed “Luke” (after Luke Skywalker), the robotic arm is a DARPA funded project intended to restore functionality for individuals with upper extremity amputations. The project is still in development, please check back for updates.

TerrainHopper is a leisure product designed and manufactured in the UK with disability in mind. It was innovated through a love of trekking in difficult terrains, whilst having an expanding young family. Although there were many “off-road”” manual buggies, we soon found out that we quickly ran out of puff, extremely limiting our range. This naturally led to a powered design. The unique patented suspension system was designed to overcome these difficulties and all types of terrain; steep uneven gradients, sandy and stony beaches, with amazing ability to traverse mud, snow and shallow streams.
TerrainHopper’s distinctive looks are functional and attractive. The product has been modularly designed to accommodate different ages and abilities.
