Your heart beats around 100,000 times every day.
It pumps about 23,000 litres of blood around your body. But what happens when it doesn't work as well as it should?
We explain what happens when the function of your heart is affected, the tests you may undergo, how it can be treated - and information about your recovery. We have information on other everyday life issues such as driving and returning to work.
You can also find out about our essential resources and how to get support.

We are a group of young people who are growing up with a heart problem. We either go to High School or Sixth Form. We meet together in the teenage room at the new Manchester Childrens Hospital about 6 times a year. We have designed this website for each other and to give other young people the opportunity to have access to information about living with their heart problem. If you would like to join us we would love to meet you.
