The difference between HealthUnlocked and other social networks is the level of moderation by the trusted patient groups and charities. Our use of web widgets and applications that are distributed across websites encourages patients to access our communities.

Osteoarthritis occurs when the body can no longer keep up the pace of repair to injuries or damage to the joints. The damage mounts up and eventually causes pain, stiffness and swelling of the joints that make it difficult to move.
Osteoarthritis usually affects the knees, hips, hands and base of the big toes. It can also affect the neck and lower back, shoulders, elbows, wrists and ankles.

It is five years since I suffered severely with arthritis in my spine but was unable to tolerate any medication prescribed by my doctor. I resorted, in desperation, to following the suggestions in a book my daughter found on eBay, by Margaret Hills. Within three months of trying this approach my sciatic pains had vanished and I was able to walk again without any pain.

Spokz People is a non-profit social enterprise offering services for adults with physical disabilities, their partners and health care professionals. Spokz People was set up after discovering that many people with disabilities prefer services provided by qualified staff with disability experience. Spokz People’s experience and understanding of disability means they can provide services to suit you.
• Counselling (in person, by telephone or online);
• Support groups;
• 12 week course covering confidence, assertiveness, body image and relationships;
• Free online forum where you can find support on disability, sex and relationships;

Our objectives are to help alleviate the pain and suffering of children with Scoliosis, Brittle Bone Disease, Arthritis and all other conditions of the bone.
