Welcome to the web site for a-technic - the UK registered charity specialising in technology to help people with disabilities.

a-technic's charitable objects (i.e. our 'mission', or purpose) are basically to research, develop and promote adaptive and assistive technologies. That means any application of technology that helps people with physical disabilities to cope with day to day living, to integrate better with society at large and to get more out of life.

The projects below are what we are currently working on. Although there is a bias towards projects to benefit the vision impaired, this is not an intentional policy of a-technic - it is simply that these are the most promising ideas that have come up so far.

Ellingham Waterski and Wakeboard Club is probably the finest place to ski in the Poole, Bournemouth, Salisbury, Southampton area if not on the South Coast. We have undoubtedly the best facilities in the Dorset and Hampshire region if you are serious about enjoying yourself behind a boat. Even if you just want to have some fun, come and pay us a visit, we're only 15 minutes from the centre of Bournemouth and 20 minutes from the M3/M27 intersection or Salisbury!

The Yorkshire and Central region of the British Disabled Water Ski Association travel to different lakes in Yorkshire, Central England and North Wales to operate water skiing courses for disabled people.

We cater for everyone - whether you've been skiing or riding for years, are a total beginner or disabled, we have everything for you to enjoy these thrilling and challenging sports.
The Centre is run by qualified instructor & driver Andy Knowles.
Andy is a world class coach, he coaches the British Disabled Water Ski Team and has led our country to success in World and European championships. He is also qualified as a British Water Ski Senior Staff Coach, International Tournament Boat Driver, teacher and examiner for the Ski Boat Driver Award, Club Drivers' and Instructor qualifications. He is also a qualified British Disabled Water Ski Association Disabled Instructor.
