Accessible Boating
is a Charity offering opportunities for people with access difficulties to go boating on the Basingstoke Canal from Colt Hill Wharf, Odiham in Hampshire, UK.
We operate 2 self-steer boats: DAWN, a day boat; and MADAM BUTTERFLY, a cruising boat.
Both craft are specially designed and equipped with facilities for less-mobile passengers who have able-bodied assistance.
Self-drive hirings are open to both novices and experienced boaters alike, because full tuition tailored to individual requirements is provided at the start of each cruise by trained Despatchers. If you have any concerns about boat handling, please contact us, as we will provide whatever support you need.

Over a decade of providing sailing for people with disabilities.
Lymington SailAbility is a charity that provides sailing for people with disabilities. It provides a safe environment that still allows the sense of freedom and exhilaration that sailing can give.
Whilst we are not a life saving charity, we can be life changing, often giving people trapped by a disability a sense of control and enjoyment they thought they had lost.

Swingbridge
The Surrey Care Trust owns and operates two Swingbridge community boats.
Local waterways are a wonderful place for people to learn skills and gain confidence and self-motivation.
Crewing a boat is a new and challenging experience which enthuses people and engages their interest.
One of the activities that is part of the Swingbridge programme is environmental work along Surrey waterways, which gives people an opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the community and learning skills.
Among those who benefit from training courses and volunteering with Swingbridge are young people, especially those on the Surrey Care Trust’s STEPS programmes, long-term unemployed, people who are underskilled and poorly-qualified, those with mild learning difficulties, and people recovering from ill health.
